Wilma’s latest
Sunday 8 June 2008 by envirohist
- Wilma with her FINISHED bullseye quilt.
- This quilt is made with stacked circles, sewn with raw edges, and cut in four.
- Then the pieces are mixed up with others and sewn back together.
- After wasking a couple of times, this quilt will have pretty frayed edges.
- Wilma is going to embroider a little too. Over the top? Keep going!
The thing that makes Wilma’s quilts so different from mine, aside from her consummate technical skill, is her ability to go with so many colors. She is jealous of my use of color and often laments that she “doesn’t know how to do color.” But isn’t it beautiful the way she uses everything? She made this quilt from years of scraps and in particular those with holiday themes. If you look closely, there’s Halloween, Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day… you name it!
